Privacy Policy

To assist you with reading through our privacy policy, we have provided answers to questions that you may find most important:

What information does CI collect?
When you subscribe to be a member of CI or choose to use the CI Forum, our process asks you to provide us with a limited amount of business-related information. This information is necessary in order for us to understand our client (or potential) client base and in order for us to use our web site and certain functions such as the Forum for its intended purpose. Categories of identifiable information include: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and other relevant business information. Additionally, our web server automatically collects click-stream information such as the address (or "URL") of the web site that you came from before visiting our site, which pages you visit on our site, which browser you used to view our site and any search terms you have entered on our site.

How is the information used?
You may choose to supply information that will enable you to receive individualized client service that we cannot offer anonymous users. That client service may include notices about updates to our web site, e-mail reminders, communicating with CI bankers, content from CI’s publication library, and use of the Forum. We may also use the information that you provide in order to respond to your requests, customize your online experience, administer promotions, offer new products and services, and measure and improve the effectiveness of our web sites or our marketing endeavors.

Does CI share the information I've provided?
We will not intentionally release your particular information other than to you, CI and its subsidiaries, our agents (such as service fulfillment parties, if any) your authorized representative, or your other authorized professional. We may forward your information to another party or parties at your written direction to do so.

  • Agents: We may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. These functions may include, but are not limited to, hosting of this website or certain parts thereof including the Forum and sending postal mail and e-mail, removing repetitive information from client lists, analyzing data, or processing credit card payments. They have access to information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
  • Promotional Offers: We may send offers to selected groups of clients on behalf of other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address. If you do not want to receive such offers, please notify us.
Disclosures: If required by federal, state and/or local law (or any order with the effect thereof), we will disclose information which may relate to you.
  • Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets. In such transactions, client information generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, in the unlikely event that CI or substantially all of its assets are acquired, client information will of course be one of the transferred assets to the extent permissible under law.
  • Protection of CI and Others: We release client and other information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with laws; enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of this website, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
